Get Involved: Donate, Fundraise or Volunteer

We have more than 600 members right now, but we know that there are many more people on the Isle of Man who need our help and support. Of course, we would love to reach out to those who need us – but we need additional funding and more volunteers to do that. Whether it is a few pounds or thousands, every penny is gratefully received and, because we are an independent Manx charity, you can be sure that any donation you make will go towards helping older people right here on the Island.

Donate Now

Donate via JustGiving by clicking here.

Here are some typical examples showing how your generous donation will help us to help older people across the Isle of Man:

Donate £10: This could pay for one member to have lunch at one of our weekly lunch groups

Donate £35: This could pay for a minibus to transport members to one of our monthly social groups

Donate £125: This could pay for a small, personal Christmas gift for every member of one of our social groups

Donate by Cheque: If you would prefer to donate by cheque, please make it payable to ‘Live At Home’ and post to: Head Office, The Mike Hailwood Centre, Glencrutchery Road, Douglas, Isle of Man IM2 6DA

Whether you raise a few pounds, or hundreds, it all makes a difference to the lives of older people right here on the Island. Here are some examples of how funds are used:

  • £39,000: The annual cost of running over 30 lunch groups
  • £49,000: Annual cost of running all of our befriending relationships
  • £175,000: The annual total running cost for Live At Home

Whether you want to create your own event or take part in one we’ve organised, there are lots of ways to fundraise and support our work helping older people across the Island. The Live At Home team are always happy to help support our fabulous fundraisers and make events as successful (and as much fun!) as possible.

Fundraising is a rewarding experience. Not only will you get the support of our fundraising team, and a whole host of free materials inside our Fundraising Pack to download to make your event a success, you will also have the satisfaction of knowing that every penny you raise will be going towards services which are a vital lifeline for older people here on the Island.

Our GRAND Challenge

Our GRAND Challenge (aiming to raise £1,000) is a great way to make a real difference to your local community by helping us to fund our work. It is a perfect and achievable target for our corporate supporters and fits brilliantly into important local businesses CSR policies.

How you achieve the total is your choice – you can either organise one or two big events to hit the target, or raise money via several smaller events spread over a year.

Here are a few ideas to get you thinking:

  • Coffee mornings
  • Quiz nights
  • Cake sales
  • Private auctions
  • Charity runs, walks and cycles with sponsorship raised on our behalf
  • Adventure challenges, such as climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, or Snaefell!

In Memory’ Tributes

How you choose to pay a tribute to a loved one is something truly special. That’s why we hope you find some comfort in supporting us as a way to remember your loved one. An ‘In Memory’ tribute is a personal and very special online space, created by you in memory of your loved one. It gives you a page where friends and family can share their fondest memories and donate or raise money for Live At Home.

You can add stories or photos to make it feel truly yours and share the fund so that others can add their own pictures, messages and donations too. We do ask you out of courtesy to check with and receive permission from the deceased’s family before creating a page.

Collecting donations rather than flowers at a funeral can help Live at Home to continue to improve the quality of life and eliminate isolation and loneliness among older people on the Isle of Man.

To donate in lieu of flowers please contact us directly. To create an ‘In Memory’ tribute, please click here.
