Welcome to live at home
It isn’t hard to identify the things that help most of us feel content. We want to be able to get around, live securely and have company when we feel like it. Most often those needs can be met while we continue to live happily in our own home, even as we grow older. That’s what Live at Home is for.
Live At Home is a dedicated Manx-registered charity established in 1998, and our staff and volunteers are passionate about providing lots of ways for our members to live happily at home for as long as they can.
We aim to improve the quality of life and eliminate isolation and loneliness among older people on the Isle of Man by connecting people in communities that care. Above all, we provide reassurance that there is always someone you can turn to for help, advice, or simply a chat.
How can Live at Home help?
This is what we can do to help you, or a relative or friend:
One-to-one befriending

Befriending can offer regular visits, perhaps to have a general chat and catch up, play cards, go to appointments or generally enjoy time being out and about.
Regular social activities

Often based around keeping members part of their communities, these activities provide a chance for members to get together, have some fun and enjoy company.
Monthly lunch clubs

With the help of our fantastic network of staff and volunteers, we host 30 monthly lunch clubs.
Film clubs

A chance to enjoy some company and talk with volunteers and staff whilst re-living some classic films from the past.
Northern Men In Sheds

A workshop for creative projects involving metalwork, carpentry, and other skills. But members can just meet for a chat over a cup of tea or coffee, or for a game of cards.
These opportunities to get involved in your local community are available through Live at Home using our fantastic network of staff and volunteers.
